The "tracking pixel" is a small piece of code found on websites, within emails, or, as in our context, associated with QR codes. Its primary role is to count the number of times a QR code is scanned, thereby redirecting users to a specified URL.
To set it up on Rqrcode:
1. Access your user interface and click on the "pixel" option in the sidebar.
2. Choose the type of pixel you want from: Facebook, Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, LinkedIn, Pinterest, Twitter, Quora, TikTok, Snapchat.
3. Assign a name to your pixel and enter the corresponding ID, which you should have previously set up on one of the mentioned platforms.
4. Once your pixel is defined, navigate to the shortened URLs section. You will have the option to either create a new link or modify an existing one. Ensure you link your pixel to this link.
5. Lastly, create a QR code that redirects to this shortened URL. The usage data of this QR code will be viewable on the platform where you initialized your pixel's ID.
What benefits does this mechanism offer?
• Interaction Traceability: Pixels allow for quantifying the scans of QR codes, providing a clear insight into customer interactions with your promotional tools.
• Behavioral Study: Upon scanning, the pixel provides information on the user's actions, such as the pages they visit and the duration of their browsing.
• Campaign Optimization: Identifying the most scanned QR code enables you to adjust your marketing techniques to maximize engagement.
• User Classification: By using various QR codes for different promotions, you can segment your audience based on their interactions, allowing for personalized marketing campaigns.
• Retargeting/Remarketing: The gathered data makes it easier to retarget users with tailored ads, thus increasing the chances of conversions.
The term "shortened URLs" refers to condensed links that the QR codes point to. In addition to housing the tracking pixel, these links have the advantage of appearing more streamlined.
Incorporating tracking pixels into your QR codes is a wise strategy to assess the effectiveness of your marketing efforts and adjust your future strategies. However, make sure to comply with privacy standards and inform your users about data collection.
